盛岡夕美子（もりおか ゆみこ）は、クラシックの素養を持つ日本のピアニスト、作曲家であり、数十年にわたるキャリアの中で国境やジャンルを超えて活動してきた環境音楽（アンビエント・ミュージック）のパイオニアです。1987年、盛岡は自身の名盤***『Resonance』***を発表します。当初は日本のドキュメンタリー番組、クリニック、ヒーリングショップなどでひっそりと流されていたこのアルバムは、時代のなかに埋もれつつも、やがて新世代のグローバルなリスナーによって再発見されることになります。そして2020年、Métron Recordsから待望のリイシュー（再発）が果たされたことで、『Resonance』は彼女をアンビエント・ミュージックの基盤を築いた先駆者として確固たる地位に押し上げました。

Yumiko Morioka is a Japanese pianist and composer with a background in classical music; she is a pioneer of ambient music who, over the course of a career spanning several decades, has worked across national borders and genres. In 1987, Morioka released her seminal album ***‘Resonance’***. Initially played quietly in the background on Japanese documentary programmes, at clinics and in healing shops, this album was in danger of being lost to the passage of time, but was eventually rediscovered by a new generation of global listeners. Then, in 2020, the long-awaited reissue by Métron Records cemented *Resonance*’s status, establishing her firmly as a pioneer who laid the foundations of ambient music.
