百鬼夜行 Hyakki Yagyō - Yokai Night of 100 Demons

鬼石には、山に住む鬼が弘法大師に向かって巨石を投げ、その石が落ちた場所が町の名になったという伝説が残されています。その物語に着想を得て、地域の歴史と現代的な表現を融合させた「百鬼夜行」を開催します。行列は歴史ある鬼石神社から始まり、灯りや音楽、そして懐かしいチンドン屋の演奏とともに町を巡ります。妖怪たちの旅はアートセンターで終わり、その後はアーティスト、出演者、地域住民、来訪者が集う交流の場へと移ります。

Prepare for a mesmerizing spectacle as the legendary spirits of the region come to life! In a nod to the very origin of our town's name, Onishi will host a vibrant Parade of a Hundred Demons, blending regional history with bold contemporary expression. This immersive parade invites visitors to step inside a mystical spectacle, as the Night of the Demons reawakens the enduring legend of the town’s namesake, the Oni. 

Watch the twilight transform as a mystical procession winds its way from the historic Onishi Shrine all the way to the new Shiro Oni Art Centre. The march will be brought to life by an enchanting tapestry of glowing lights, hauntingly beautiful music, and the nostalgic, high-energy performances of traditional Chindonya musicians and dancers.
