WATANABE Wataru

1979 Born in Tochigi prefecture. Drawing from an early age. Majored in ancient literature at university.Watanabe drew detailed and realistic paintings and held many solo exhibitions while living inTokyo. After living temporarely at the foot of a mountain in Ashikaga,Watanabe moved to Onishi."Tochi ni" held with thoughts on the Japanese horse chestnut (tochi) tree at Kanezawa park is a representative project.

１９７９年栃木県生まれ。幼いころより絵を描く。大学では上代文学を専攻。緻密で写実的な絵を描き、東京在住時は多くの個展を開催。足利の山の麓での仮寓を経て鬼石へ。十一屋（現・百年の杜カネザワパーク）のトチの木に思いを寄せて催した「トチに」は代表的プロジェクト。
